President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. highlighted that sending funds straight to local government units (LGUs) has accelerated project execution and enhanced accountability by empowering local leaders to manage their own development initiatives.
During the launch of the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang program at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center in Koronadal City, Marcos explained that routing financial resources directly via the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) cuts down on delays.
“Kaya’t ginawa natin ang LGSF at diniresto na natin sa mga mayor, sa mga gobernador para sa kanilang proyekto,” Marcos said at the event.
The President emphasized that governors and mayors are uniquely qualified to pinpoint the exact needs of their communities and manage local initiatives effectively.
Furthermore, Marcos noted that this strategic shift has fostered a much stronger working relationship between the national administration and local authorities.
