SM Prime Holdings Inc. has joined forces with global ticketing giant Ticketmaster to debut “SM Ticketmaster,” a brand-new platform set to overhaul live event ticketing in the Philippines.
The joint venture will officially replace the long-standing SM Tickets system, introducing Ticketmaster’s advanced global technology, digital product innovations, and anti-fraud mechanisms to the rapidly growing Philippine entertainment market.
“Our goal is to make the ticket-buying experience more reliable, secure and convenient for customers,” SM Prime President Jeffrey Lim said.
“Through this partnership, we are combining Ticketmaster’s global ticketing technology with our local operating expertise to support the next phase of live entertainment in the Philippines.”
Beyond servicing SM Prime’s own premier venues—such as the SM Mall of Asia Arena, SMDC Festival Grounds, and the upcoming SM Seaside Cebu Arena—the newly formed SM Ticketmaster will also cater to third-party promoters, organizers, and independent venues nationwide.
Ticketmaster Asia-Pacific Regional Vice President Jim Kotsonis highlighted the country’s strategic importance to the brand’s global footprint, citing an insatiable local appetite for live concerts and sporting events.
“Fans in the Philippines are showing strong and growing demand for live experiences… SM Ticketmaster will give fans a simpler way to buy tickets and organizers stronger tools to manage their events,” Kotsonis noted.
The new entity will be spearheaded by Mike Mangubat and is designed to provide comprehensive, end-to-end ticketing services, spanning event operations, targeted marketing assistance, and dedicated customer service.
The transition from SM Tickets to SM Ticketmaster is expected to roll out over the coming weeks. To ensure seamless access to upcoming high-profile events, existing users are highly encouraged to complete their early registration on the official platform.
The platform’s launch comes ahead of a massive lineup of international artists scheduled to hit SM Prime stages this year, including Laufey, ITZY, Kodaline, Charlie Puth, LANY, Jason Mraz, 5 Seconds of Summer, and EXO’s highly anticipated “EXO Planet #6 – EXhOrizon” in Manila.
According to Lim, the public can expect announcements for more major events in the months ahead.
