Former child actress Mutya Orquia is set to headline the upcoming episodes of the educational series “Estudyantipid,” a show dedicated to teaching Filipino youth the fundamentals of saving, budgeting, and scam prevention.
The new episodes, specifically tailored for high school learners, are part of the FinEd (Financial Education) Unboxed initiative—a collaborative project between the BPI Foundation, Inc. (BPIF) and the Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI).
Through relatable and engaging storytelling, the series aims to equip students with practical financial skills. The curriculum will focus on proper money management, smart spending habits, digital fraud awareness, and sound financial decision-making.
Alongside the broadcast of the series, the partnership includes the distribution of Knowledge Channel TV (KCTV) learning packages to selected schools nationwide. This effort seeks to broaden access to educational and financial literacy content, particularly within underserved communities.
The rollout of the KCTV packages is scheduled to begin in July 2026. The initial phase will cover selected schools in Iloilo and Rizal, alongside pilot areas in Mindanao, which include prospective sites in Sarangani or South Cotabato, and Zamboanga or Basilan.
The project was officially sealed during a partnership signing ceremony led by BPI Foundation Trustee Mary Catherine Elizabeth Santamaria and KCFI Vice President Edric Calma, along with other key representatives from both organizations.
