SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna — Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has been selected by Toyota Motor Asia (TMA) to lead the Body and Paint Education (BPE) regional training program, marking a milestone for local technical expertise in the automotive sector.
The initiative, established under the global framework of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), standardizes after-sales skill development across regional markets to meet global competency metrics. TMA selected the Philippine unit following a capability assessment that highlighted the expertise of Filipino instructors and the quality of the local facility’s equipment.
TMP hosted the initial session of the program from September 7 to 18 at its facility in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. During the 12-day session, four Body Repair Instructors from Toyota affiliates in Indonesia, Laos, Thailand, and Pakistan completed theoretical lectures and practical exercises led by TMP trainers.
Under an agreement running through 2029, TMP will conduct three courses in its first year to accommodate participants from various Toyota affiliates across Asia.
The appointment follows recent global certifications earned by TMP’s BPE team from TMA, including ‘Paint Instructor Course Step 1’ and ‘Estimation Instructor Course Step 1’.
The team is scheduled to undergo further global certification training through 2027 to support its service standards and align with Toyota’s global “Best in Town” philosophy.
This development builds on the performance of TMP’s line team, which secured six medals at the Toyota 2026 Asia Pacific Skills Contest in August.
