True FM 105.9 and One PH have secured multiple nominations at the 20th UPCOMM BroadSoc Gandingan Awards, which carries the theme “Pakinggan, Tinig ng Kalikasan.”
The annual awards recognize outstanding radio and television programs that champion public service, social awareness, and community development.
True FM is in the running for Most Development-Oriented FM Station. Several of its programs also received nominations, including Ted Failon and DJ Chacha and Sana Lourd for development-oriented radio shows. Meanwhile, Good Morning, Bayan! was cited in the public service category, and Sagot Kita! earned recognition for radio public service.
On the television side, One PH’s Alagang Kapatid is nominated for Most Development-Oriented Public Service Program. Ted Failon and DJ Chacha also gained a nomination in the documentary category.
Additionally, Think About It – People of the Philippines vs. the Corrupt was recognized as a contender for Most Development-Oriented Investigative Story.
The Gandingan Awards, organized by the UP Community Broadcasters’ Society at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), was established in 2007 to honor responsible and socially relevant broadcasting.
The awarding ceremony is scheduled on April 25 at the D.L. Umali Hall in UPLB.
