Vice President Sara Duterte launched a blistering critique against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday, holding his administration responsible for the recent political instability rocking the Senate and the nation.
The Vice President’s remarks follow a tense Wednesday night session in the Senate, which she characterized as a blatant display of institutional disrespect and a weaponization of state authority.
“What you are witnessing sa bayan natin is grave abuse of power.”
Duterte further alleged that the executive branch is systematically utilizing public funds and state machinery to stifle dissent and dismantle any formidable political rivals.
“So, what we are seeing now is the administration using all government resources to demolish political opposition or those individuals who do not follow or agree or support BBM. Nagkakagulo lang tayo dahil kay BBM.”
Malacañang was quick to brush off the accusations, describing the Vice President’s claims as baseless and lacking any real substance. In a concise rebuttal, the Palace suggested that a lengthy defense would only lend unearned weight to the allegations.
The administration’s statement concluded with a sharp jab at the Vice President’s rhetoric, asserting that the Philippines requires dedicated public servants focused on governance rather than individuals who allegedly engage in the spread of “intrigue and fake news.”
