ALEX EALA TO HEADLINE HISTORIC EXHIBITION MATCH AT PHILIPPINE ARENA IN DECEMBER

Philippine tennis sensation Alex Eala is returning home for a landmark showcase, headlining “Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate.” on December 8 at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

Organized by Tatler, the special exhibition event will feature the 21-year-old star against Indonesian stand-out Janice Tjen.

Beyond the main singles clash, the showcase aims to highlight regional talent through matches involving local players and celebrity exhibition games inside the 55,000-capacity venue.

If the event reaches maximum capacity, it could set a new world record for the highest attendance at a tennis match. The current record of 51,954 spectators was established during the “Match in Africa” charity exhibition between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal at Cape Town Stadium in 2020.

Eala, who holds a career-high WTA ranking of World No. 18 and enters the US Open as the 17th seed, shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming home match:

“I’ll be playing against Indonesia’s Janice Tjen. Get ready for an unforgettable day of world class tennis and the celebration of national pride, designed to inspire the next generation of Filipino tennis players,” Eala stated.

“I can’t wait to share this moment with you and celebrate our culture together. Thank you so much for all the support going into the U.S. Open. Manila, magkita-kita tayo.”
