AYALA LAND COMMENCES MAJOR ROADWORKS IN TAGUIG FOR MULTI-BILLION TRANSPORT HUBS

Property giant Ayala Land has officially broken ground on extensive road upgrades in Taguig City, setting the stage for two multi-billion-dollar infrastructure developments aimed at decongesting Metro Manila’s heavily bottlenecked thoroughfares.

Construction crews mobilized on April 20 along a strategic section of the East Service Road, running adjacent to Ayala Land’s 74-hectare Arca South estate in Barangay Western Bicutan.

According to the developer, the civil works are slated for a six-month timeline, with completion targeted by October.

The widening and modification of the corridor are designed to expand vehicular capacity in anticipation of two massive, high-impact transport projects: the Southeast Metro Manila Expressway (SEMME) and the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (ITX).

  • Southeast Metro Manila Expressway (Skyway Stage 4): A planned 32.66-kilometer tollway engineered to establish a direct link between Taguig and Quezon City. Upon completion, the expressway is projected to accommodate roughly 150,000 vehicles daily, slashing transit times between the southern and eastern corridors of the metropolis while diverting heavy traffic away from EDSA and C-5.
  • Taguig City ITX: Envisioned as a primary intermodal transport hub, this facility will centralize buses, public utility vehicles, and commuter traffic, acting as a critical gateway for regional transit.

Ayala Land emphasized that these proactive infrastructure enhancements will firmly anchor Arca South as a premier transit-oriented district.

The seamless integration with SEMME and the Taguig ITX is expected to drastically improve accessibility to the country’s key economic centers, including Makati, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
