QUEZON CITY LAUNCHES DIGITAL GOVERNANCE SUITE FOR FISCAL TRANSPARENCY

The Quezon City local government has rolled out a new suite of digital platforms aimed at enhancing fiscal transparency, citizen engagement, and public accountability across the municipality.

Dubbed “QCitizen Data: Resibo ng Serbisyo,” the digital initiative was officially launched during the celebration of Open Government Week 2026.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte emphasized that the project is designed to bridge the gap between the local government and its constituents by making public data readily available.

“Our goal is to make government easier to understand and easier to engage with for every QCitizen,” Belmonte said. “When people can see what the government is doing and track how it responds, it creates a stronger sense of trust and shared responsibility.”

The technological modernization centers around three newly developed digital platforms:

  • QCitizen Data Dashboards: A centralized digital repository tracking the delivery of key municipal services, including the city’s unified ID system, scholarship grants, and financial assistance distributions.
  • QC Open Infra Dashboard: An interactive digital map detailing all city-funded infrastructure developments initiated since 2019. The portal publicizes project budgets, exact locations, implementation timelines, and progress photographs in a bid to prevent corruption.
  • QC iReport: A dedicated civic mobile application that allows residents to report non-emergency community issues, such as damaged roads, illegal parking, and uncollected refuse. Users can submit photo evidence directly through the app and monitor the resolution response time of city offices.

The digital transition comes amid a broader national push for Philippine local government units to modernize public service delivery and eliminate bureaucratic inefficiencies.

Quezon City officials stated they hope the open-data framework will serve as a viable blueprint for other highly urbanized cities nationwide.
