BULACAN GOV. FERNANDO URGES RESIDENTS TO FLY NATIONAL FLAG FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando has called on his constituents to proudly display the Philippine flag in homes, schools, corporate offices, and commercial establishments from May 28 to June 12 to honor National Flag Days and the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence.

According to Fernando, hoisting the tricolor is a powerful symbol of national unity, patriotism, and the immense sacrifices endured by heroes who fought for liberation.

“The Philippine flag served as an inspiration to the revolutionaries during General Emilio Aguinaldo’s time. It continues to rekindle the greatness of Filipinos who fought for our sovereignty,” Fernando said.

The governor urged the public to sustain a deep sense of nationalism and a lasting gratitude for the country’s hard-won liberties.

“May the patriotism and appreciation of freedom that is the foundation of a stable and prosperous nation remain burning in the heart of every citizen,” he added.

The provincial government kicked off the weeks-long commemoration on Thursday morning, May 28, with a flag-raising ceremony and a short program outside the Bulacan Capitol building. The event highlighted the national flag’s role as an enduring emblem of dignity, independence, and the ongoing pursuit of national sovereignty.

Fernando was accompanied at the morning ceremony by Vice Governor Alex Castro, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, provincial department heads, and Capitol employees.
