Enrique Gil has officially marked a new chapter in his career by leading TV5’s flagship series, “A Secret in Prague,” signaling a major television comeback and his first-ever team-up with young actress Andrea Brillantes.
The series, which premiered on April 27, 2026, as part of the TodoMax Primetime line-up, was the centerpiece of the network’s high-stakes programming slate for the year.
Co-produced by MQuest Ventures and Slingshot Studios, the project marks a significant departure from Gil’s previous romantic dramas, blending high-stakes action with a suspenseful plot filmed largely on location in the Czech Republic.
Gil portrays Michael “Mikoy” Pinagpala, a waiter whose quest for a better life in Europe takes a dangerous turn when he becomes entangled with the daughter of a mysterious crime boss.
During the show’s launch, Gil highlighted the personal significance of the project, describing it as the result of long-term planning.
“This project has been in the works for several years, and being able to film in a place as beautiful as Prague while exploring a story that touches on the Filipino migrant experience makes this very special.”
The production also features a powerhouse supporting cast, including Edu Manzano, Joel Torre, and Kim Domingo, the latter playing a special agent who draws Gil’s character into a world of espionage.
For Gil, the move to TV5 represents a bold pivot toward more versatile roles, moving away from the traditional “love team” format that defined much of his earlier career.
”A Secret in Prague” is currently airing weeknights at 8:00 PM, with additional streaming availability on Netflix and Cignal Play, further expanding Gil’s reach to a global audience.
