JENNIFER BARZAGA WINS CAVITE 4TH DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION VIA LANDSLIDE

Dasmariñas City Mayor Jennifer Barzaga has been proclaimed the new representative for Cavite’s 4th District following a decisive victory in Saturday’s special election. The District Board of Canvassers officially declared her win early Sunday morning.

Barzaga claimed the congressional seat after garnering 201,893 votes, comfortably outpacing her opponents:

  • Raul Rex Mangubat: 30,373 votes
  • Jacinto Frani Jr.: 24,350 votes
  • Marvin Dupal-Ag: 1,184 votes
  • Leysander Ordenes: 561 votes

The special poll recorded a 57.75% turnout across 75 barangays, with 258,361 of the district’s 447,387 registered voters casting their ballots.

The election was held to fill the vacancy created by the expulsion of her son, former representative Francisco “Kiko” Barzaga, who was removed from the House of Representatives in June due to repeated parliamentary infractions, unauthorized livestreaming from the session hall, mocking House leadership, and general disorderly conduct.

Following Jennifer Barzaga’s transition to Congress, her other son, Vice Mayor Elpidio “Third” Barzaga III, will assume the position of Dasmariñas City Mayor.
