The iconic 1990s screen tandem of Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin, popularly known as “MarJo,” is returning to television to lead TV5’s upcoming morning romantic-comedy series, Mommy Guard.


Unveiled during the network’s mid-year trade launch, the morning drama serves as Magdangal’s television comeback and marks a fresh chapter for the beloved love team.
The series features a stellar supporting cast, including Dominic Ochoa and Roxanne Guinoo.
According to the lead stars, Mommy Guard offers a modern take on romance that reflects their growth as actors and individuals.


Jolina shared that the series balances romance with real-life complexities:
”Here in ‘Mommy Guard,’ there’s still love. Because that’s what should be above all of us. But of course, in all love, there’s conflict.”
Reflecting on their enduring bond on and off screen, Magdangal expressed gratitude for the audience’s continued support over the decades, noting how their dynamic has matured alongside their viewers.

Marvin echoed her sentiments, describing the project as “Isang level up ng kiligan at pagmamahalan,” while adding that their bond remains deeply rooted in mutual respect:
“We love each other so much. It’s personal, it’s work.”
The upcoming daytime lighthearted series forms part of TV5’s expanding programming lineup for the second half of the year, promising fans a blend of nostalgia, humor, and adult romance.
