South Korean celebrity couple Jung Kyung-ho and Choi Soo-young have officially ended their 14-year relationship, marking the conclusion of one of the Korean entertainment industry’s most enduring romances.
Reports indicate that the couple gradually grew apart due to demanding professional commitments, which left them with limited time to spend together.
Choi’s management agency, Saram Entertainment, officially confirmed the separation.
”It is true that the two have broken up,” Saram Entertainment, Choi Soo-young’s agency, confirmed to MyDaily news outlet.
An industry insider noted that their contrasting work demands heavily influenced the decision to part ways.
According to the source, Jung’s continuous project commitments combined with Choi’s active schedules bridging South Korea and Japan left them with infrequent opportunities to meet, leading to the recent end of their romantic relationship.
The high-profile pair first met through their church and began dating in September 2012. After initially denying dating rumors in 2013, they publicly acknowledged their relationship in January 2014 following media reports.
Over more than a decade, they became widely regarded as one of South Korea’s most stable and admired celebrity couples.
Jung Kyung-ho is well-known for his prominent television roles in hit dramas such as Prison Playbook, Hospital Playlist, Crash Course in Romance, and the legal series Pro Bono.
Choi Soo-young initially gained international fame after debuting in 2007 as a member of the iconic K-pop group Girls’ Generation. She has since transitioned into a successful acting career, starring in television projects like Dating Agency: Cyrano, Idol I, and Second Shot at Love.
Despite the split, reports indicate that the two stars have chosen to maintain an amicable relationship and will continue to support each other as industry colleagues.
