Veteran actress Lorna Tolentino has officially joined the ranks of the Philippine Navy Reserve Command following her successful completion of the Basic Citizen Military Course (BCMC).
Tolentino marked the milestone on Friday, August 7, by sharing photos from her graduation ceremony on social media, where she was seen wearing the official Philippine Navy uniform alongside her son, Rap Fernandez, who attended in support.
“Discipline is choosing to finish, even when it’s hard. Just finished,” Tolentino wrote.
“Lorna Tolentino Fernandez, at your service. Philippine Navy Reserve Command.”
“Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!” she added.
The 64-year-old actress revealed that her late husband, iconic action star Rudy Fernandez—who was also a naval reservist—served as her primary inspiration for enlisting.
Reflecting on the rigorous sea training she completed in Cavite, Tolentino shared how her husband’s military service motivated her to take on the challenge.
By completing the course, Tolentino joins a growing list of Filipino public figures and celebrities who serve as military reservists, including Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, Nadia Montenegro, Matteo Guidicelli, Karina Bautista, Christopher de Leon, Julia Barretto, Gerald Anderson, and Ronnie Liang.
