Over 4,400 police officers are set to blanket Metro Manila to guarantee a safe and orderly return to classes on June 8.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin announced that the extensive deployment will feature Police Assistance Desks (PADs), foot patrols, and mobile units. These teams will be strategically positioned around school zones, transportation hubs, and major thoroughfares to control traffic, deter crime, and handle emergencies.
To ensure maximum security, the public can expect an increased police presence starting this week as preparatory measures ramp up.
“We are working hand-in-hand with school administrators, local government units, and transport groups to keep the opening of School Year 2026–2027 incident-free,” Aberin said.
Aberin stressed that safeguarding students is a collective responsibility that demands cooperation across all sectors of the community.
”Every student deserves to begin the school year in a safe environment. Through Oplan Balik Eskwela 2026, the NCRPO stands ready to protect and respond, ensuring our schools remain secure spaces for learning,” he said.
Community members are encouraged to stay vigilant and promptly report any unusual or suspicious behavior to officers on the ground or via the 911 emergency hotline.
