NADINE LUSTRE SLAMS PH GOV’T ‘SH—SHOW’

Award-winning actress Nadine Lustre has lashed out at the Philippine government, branding the current political landscape a “blatant sh—show” and expressing deep frustration over systemic corruption and incompetence.

In a candid, lengthy post shared on her Instagram community “daily rant” channel, the actress did not mince words as she condemned state officials for taking the public for granted.

“At this point, it’s become such a blatant sh—show that it almost feels insulting,” Lustre wrote.

She accused those in power of gaslighting citizens and acting with impunity despite glaring governance failures.

She accused officials of “toying with us, treating people like we’re too blind to notice the corruption, incompetence, performative concern, and endless cycle of disappointment.”

Lustre revealed that her outburst was triggered by a barrage of distressing news that met her upon opening her phone, describing the experience as emotionally taxing.

“I sat down and started reflecting after opening my phone today, because I was instantly flooded with another story, another video, another reminder of how deeply messed up so much of the world around us has become. It’s been undeniably overwhelming,” she shared.

The actress emphasized that the heaviest consequences of political misdeeds invariably fall upon the shoulders of regular citizens.

“Somehow, ordinary people are always the ones left carrying the burden of their greed,” she added.

Lustre’s remarks come amid intensifying public dissatisfaction over recent political shakeups. The Senate recently saw a leadership transition with Alan Peter Cayetano taking over the chamber’s helm from Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high following a controversial attempt to arrest Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa after the International Criminal Court (ICC) confirmed a warrant for his arrest regarding his involvement in the Duterte administration’s deadly anti-drug campaign.
