LOS ANGELES, California — Pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan are joining forces to drop a brand-new remix of “Expectations” alongside a music video on October 15.
Rodrigo broke the news on social media on October 13, sharing that the collaborative track and its accompanying visual will premiere at 5 p.m. PST.
Helmed by director Bardia Zeinali and produced by Rodrigo’s frequent collaborator Daniel Nigro, the release marks Roan’s inaugural feature on one of Rodrigo’s songs. The duo share an established history of performing together, with Roan previously opening for Rodrigo on her “Sour” and “Guts” tours and joining her at the Daisy Chain Fields women-led festival in Irvine, California, last August.
The exciting musical drop arrives as Rodrigo’s latest record and standout tracks vie for recognition at the upcoming 2027 Grammy Awards.
Reportedly, her latest project—including submissions like “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love”—is in the running for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, alongside nods for packaging and cover design.
Additionally, the track “The Cure” has reportedly been entered into categories such as Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Music Video. Another notable track, “What’s Wrong with Me” featuring Robert Smith of The Cure, has similarly drawn buzz with submissions for Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song.
The Recording Academy is scheduled to officially unveil the nominees for the 2027 Grammy Awards on November 16.
