Filipino-American pop icon Olivia Rodrigo has officially shared the full tracklist for her highly anticipated third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, giving fans a glimpse into the project ahead of its June 12 launch.
The upcoming 13-track record is uniquely structured into two distinct, thematic halves: “Girl So in Love” and “You Seem Pretty Sad.” This dual format promises to deliver a compelling narrative arc that juxtaposes the highs of romance with raw emotional vulnerability.
The album’s opening chapter, “Girl So in Love,” consists of seven songs anchored by the prominent lead single “Drop Dead.”
Rounding out the first half are tracks titled “Stupid Song,” “Honeybee,” “Maggots for Brains,” “U+Me = <3,” “My Way,” and “Purple,” which altogether dive into the highs and lows of infatuation, youth, and rebellion.
Transitioning into a more somber and introspective atmosphere, the second half of the record features titles such as “What’s Wrong With Me,” “Less,” “Expectations,” and “Cigarette Smoke.” This section also boasts her latest single, “The Cure,” which has already captivated listeners with its deeply personal lyrics and brooding production.
Taking to social media to share her excitement with her massive global fanbase, Rodrigo expressed her anticipation for the rollout.
“Only 3 weeks till the album is yours!” Rodrigo wrote in a Facebook post. “I can’t wait for you guys to hear these songs.”
This collection represents Rodrigo’s first major full-length release since her critically acclaimed 2023 sophomore album, Guts.
By utilizing a split thematic framework, the new record is poised to showcase the young artist’s evolution as a songwriter, blending her trademark sharp lyricism with nuanced storytelling.
