Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte spearheaded the opening of a new pocket park in Barangay South Triangle on Monday, September 7, providing local residents with a fresh venue for outdoor leisure and recreation.
Located adjacent to the South Triangle Barangay Hall, the community space was developed by the South Triangle Barangay Council led by Barangay Chairperson Beverly Gaw.
The ceremony was also attended by District 4 Action Officer Atty. Zandy Zacate.
Designed for all ages, the facility features a children’s play area alongside dedicated space for senior citizens and local families to relax outdoors.
Belmonte praised the project’s completion, emphasizing that local initiatives like pocket parks align with her administration’s overarching strategy to expand accessible, green, and sustainable spaces throughout Quezon City to enhance public health and overall livability.
The city government plans to continue establishing similar green spaces across various neighborhoods to foster better community wellness and environmental sustainability.
