TEHRAN EVALUATES NEW U.S. PROPOSAL AS TRUMP WARNS OF “BORDERLINE” DIPLOMACY

Iran announced on Wednesday that it is reviewing a fresh diplomatic proposal from the United States aimed at ending the Middle East conflict, even as U.S. President Donald Trump cautioned that negotiations are hovering on the brink between a breakthrough and a resumption of military strikes.

While Trump initially suggested that the talks had reached their “final stages,” he later shifted to a more urgent tone, warning Tehran that the window for a diplomatic resolution could shut abruptly.

”It’s right on the borderline, believe me. If we don’t get the right answers, it goes very quickly. We’re all ready to go,” Trump told reporters at Joint Base Andrews near Washington.

The U.S. President indicated that an agreement could materialize “very quickly” or “in a few days,” but maintained that the Iranian government must deliver “100 percent good answers” to secure a deal.

In Tehran, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed that the government had “received the points of view of the American side” and is currently analyzing the terms. However, Baqaei reiterated Iran’s steadfast conditions for peace, which include the unfreezing of its overseas assets and an immediate halt to the U.S. blockade on Iranian ports.

The developments follow sharp rhetoric from Tehran’s chief negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who accused Washington of actively trying to reignite hostilities after Trump threatened new military operations if a deal falls through.

”The enemy’s movements, both overt and clandestine, show that despite economic and political pressure, it has not abandoned its military objectives and is seeking to start a new war,” Ghalibaf stated.

Ghalibaf warned that any further aggression would meet a “forceful response,” a sentiment echoed by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, who cautioned that a renewed outbreak of conflict would rapidly spill over far beyond the borders of the Middle East.
