MANILA, Philippines — VIBE PLUS turned October 10 into a memorable night for Original Pilipino Music (OPM) fans, bringing together emerging performers, established music icons, and special guests for a birthday celebration packed with live performances, musical throwbacks, and exciting surprises.
The latest edition of the OPM live countdown opened with an energetic production from the VIBE JOCKS of GEN V, who performed a medley of contemporary OPM hits, including “Babaero,” “Mambobola,” “Bababa,” and “Paruparo,” setting the tone for the evening’s festivities.

The program also featured a first-time appearance on the VIBE stage by Shawn Crab, daughter of Cheena Crab, one of the hosts of Gandang Mornings with Ate Koring. Shawn performed “Ocean” on VIBE DROP and expressed her happiness at having the opportunity to showcase her talent on the platform.

Meanwhile, Jenzen Guino returned to the VIBE stage through VIBE SPOT, introducing his comeback and first English-language single, “Thought Of Us.” He shared his appreciation for the opportunity, reflecting on his journey from being an Uprising Star to becoming a Main Vibe artist and eventually performing on VIBE SPOT.

OPM icons bring timeless hits to the stage
The celebration continued with performances from two respected figures in the Philippine music industry.
Veteran singer Nonoy Zuniga returned to the program with renditions of “Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap” and “Araw-Gabi,” bringing familiar classics to the audience. He also invited fans to look forward to his upcoming shows in Houston and Dallas, Texas, this December.
Making her first appearance on the VIBE stage was the Inspirational Diva, Jamie Rivera. She performed her well-loved songs “I’ve Fallen For You” and “Mahal Naman,” the latter alongside VIBE JOCK ANA.

ANA expressed her honor at sharing the stage with Rivera, while the veteran singer reflected on the enduring popularity of “Mahal Naman,” which was released in 1987.
Rivera shared her gratitude that the song continues to be recognized and heard by audiences decades after its release, underscoring the lasting appeal of classic OPM music.

Dylan celebrates his birthday ahead of major concert
One of the evening’s highlights was a special birthday performance by VIBE JOCK Dylan, who sang his latest single, “Sa Tabi Mo,” as part of the celebration.
Dylan also spoke about his excitement, nervousness, and preparations for his upcoming major concert, Dylan Day, scheduled for October 13 at the Music Museum.

Several personalities sent birthday greetings and messages of support to the performer, including Iñigo Pascual, PBA players Jayson Castro and Roger Pogoy, as well as Ogie Alcasid and Gary Valenciano.
The celebration became even more special during Dylan’s performance of “Sa Aking Puso,” when Ice Seguerra joined the occasion alongside Dylan’s family members and relatives Jamie, Miggy, Ralf, Deo, and Bien. They extended their birthday wishes to Dylan, expressing hopes for his continued success, good health, and happiness as he pursues his musical career.
Orient Pearl closes the show with rock classics
Bringing the evening to a powerful conclusion, Filipino rock band Orient Pearl took the VIBE stage for performances of “Kasalanan” and “Pagsubok,” joined by VIBE JOCKS ANA, RYLE, and JOAO.

The rock segment provided a fitting finale to the 10.10 special, celebrating the diversity of OPM through a combination of contemporary hits, beloved ballads, and enduring rock anthems.
Fans await the return of the Main Vibe leaderboard
Despite the celebration, some OPM and P-pop fans continue to express disappointment over the ongoing hiatus of the Main Vibe leaderboard, with supporters hoping for an announcement regarding its return.
The leaderboard has served as an avenue for fans to vote for their favorite artists and help bring their preferred performers and latest releases to the VIBE stage. Supporters are particularly eager for the voting feature to resume as more OPM and P-pop acts prepare comebacks and introduce new music.
Fans hope the program will continue to strengthen its commitment to showcasing Filipino music while providing artists and their supporters with opportunities to connect through live performances and audience participation.
VIBE continues to air every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday on TV5, One PH, Kapatid Channel, and Cignal Play, with additional updates and content available through the official social media pages of VIBE and TV5.
Through its 10.10 celebration, VIBE PLUS reaffirmed its dedication to bringing together different generations of Filipino artists and giving OPM a platform to reach more listeners.
