QUEZON CITY, Philippines — VIBE PLUS reaffirmed its commitment to promoting local talent with an action-packed episode highlighting Original Pilipino Music (OPM) icons, fresh artist showcases, and dynamic network announcements under its signature theme, “Bida Ang OPM.”
The broadcast kicked off with a high-energy opening act featuring VIBE Jocks and STARWORX artists delivering powerful renditions of impactful OPM tracks, including “Rosas,” “Lakumpake,” and “Umaaligid.”
During the segment, the team congratulated VIBE Jock Joao on the success of his film Multwoh: Patay Na Patay Sa’yo, while extending birthday greetings to Gen V’s Mark Ian and Junior Jock Spencer.
Adding drama to the stage, veteran actress Gladys Reyes performed her debut single, “Primera Kontrabida.” Following her performance, Reyes shared a lighthearted moment on stage with VIBE Jock Ryle, who took part in an impromptu acting scene that included her signature dramatic slap.
Reyes reflected on her career trajectory, noting how her iconic role in Mara Clara continues to resonate across generations. The showcase continued with rising artist XYVRL, who made her VIBE stage debut on VIBE Drop with a performance of her new track, “SBAPN (Super Baddie Ang Pretty Naman).”
In a major highlight, Asia’s Nightingale, Lani Misalucha, returned to the program to deliver her latest single, “Punong Matibay,” alongside classic hits “Tunay Na Mahal” and “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” joined by VIBE Jocks Carmela, Gigi, and Ana. To honor her enduring legacy in the Philippine music industry, VIBE presented Misalucha with a Purple Plaque.
Misalucha also invited viewers to her upcoming live appearances scheduled for October 10, October 17, November 14, and December 12.
Focusing on upcoming solo concert events, VIBE Jock Dylan took to the stage for a live performance of “Walang Iba,” building momentum for his concert on October 13. Dylan gave audiences an exclusive preview of an original composition slated to debut during the live concert.
Rock band Rocksteddy rocked the show with a three-song set featuring “Leslie,” “Superhero,” and their latest single, “Sa Ilalim Ng Baso.”
Marking their 20th anniversary in the industry, lead vocalist Teddy expressed gratitude for performing on an OPM countdown platform and addressed the band’s aggressive monthly release schedule:
“May mga, meron kaming advice na ‘Huy, ba’t kayo every month kayo nagrerelase?’, Wala akong pakialam. Gusto kaming magrelease eh. 20 years na kami dito. Pabayaan niyo na kami ’tol! Matatanda na kami!”
Closing out the show, producers teased the return of the expanded MAIN VIBE leaderboard voting system, promising fans new avenues to support their favorite OPM and P-POP acts.
Upcoming highlights include an appearance by Sharon Cuneta this Saturday, alongside the launch of VIBE NIGHTS, a new podcast airing Wednesdays following Frontline Tonight.
