WILLIE REVILLAME DENIES FORMER INTERN’S CLAIMS OF “NO EYE CONTACT” RULE

TV host Willie Revillame has fired back at allegations made by former production intern Dex Conche regarding strict workplace protocols during the host’s previous tenure at ABS-CBN’s “Wowowee.”

In an appearance on Leland Lim’s “Walang Edit Edit” podcast, Conche claimed that staff members were strictly prohibited from approaching or even looking at the veteran host.

“Bawal mo siya tingnan. Production intern ako within the studio at that time. Huwag mo siyang lalapitan. Kapag magkakasalisi kayo, umiwas ka ng tingin talaga,” Conche stated.

The allegations quickly gained traction across social media platforms, prompting Revillame to address the issue directly during a recent episode of his program, “Wilyonaryo.”

The host dismissed the claims as malicious fabrications, asserting that he was not even aware of the specific interns working on the set at that time.

“Marami nang lumalabas sa social media na paninira. Huwag po kayong maniniwala diyan na bawal raw akong tingnan,” Revillame clarified.

He further explained that his dressing rooms, particularly during his time at GMA Network, were located in secluded backstage areas where foot traffic was minimal, making the alleged “no-look” encounters unlikely.

“Alam mo, ikaw, bata ka pa lang sira ulo ka na. Minsan talaga mabubuwisit ka na lang talaga sa mga fake news na ito, e,” the host added.

Revillame’s career has spanned several major networks over the decades, moving from ABS-CBN to TV5, GMA Network, and ALLTV, before returning to TV5 in 2024.

As of press time, Conche has not released a follow-up statement in response to Revillame’s rebuttal.
