Following months of intense global anticipation, Bandai Namco and Bandai Card Games have officially unveiled the first detailed look at the upcoming NARUTO CARD GAME, releasing comprehensive overview trailers and gameplay mechanics.
The tabletop trading card game (TCG) is slated for a worldwide commercial launch in Summer 2027, with initial demo sessions kicking off at Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis.
Strategic Ninjutsu Battles: Core Mechanics and Deck Construction
Breaking away from earlier card game adaptations, the new NARUTO CARD GAME introduces a tactical resource-management system centered on Chakra allocation and strategic battlefield placement.
To participate, players construct a tailored 57-card deck consisting of 1 Leader card, 50 Character cards (including high-impact EX Characters), 5 Chakra cards, and 1 Summon card. Matches are won by strategically bypassing enemy defenses and reducing the opponent’s Leader card Life total to zero.
The deck structure relies on several key card types that fulfill distinct tactical roles during combat. The Leader Card serves as the central ninja avatar and primary life anchor of the deck. Standard Character Cards act as frontline combatants utilized for tactical attacks, with select units featuring activated Ninjutsu techniques, while EX Character Cards serve as high-impact, game-changing units summoned under specialized battle conditions. Additionally, Summon Cards bring extra support characters into active play, while Chakra Cards function as the primary energy system required to pay costs for techniques, character deployments, and tactical support.
Visually, the cards incorporate artwork spanning the entire franchise timeline including the original NARUTO series, NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, and BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS combining iconic anime stills with original illustrations from guest artists.
Celebrating the game’s announcement, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto shared his enthusiasm for the project:
“NARUTO CARD GAME! I’m glad to see the world of NARUTO grow larger once again,” Kishimoto stated. “I truly hope these cards find their way to both your hands and your hearts.”
Global Tour and World Launch Roadmap
To build momentum leading into the 2027 release, Bandai Card Games is rolling out an extensive international demo tour. Following its debut at Gen Con 2026, preview events will take place across major global conventions, including New York Comic Con, PAX Australia, Paris Games Week, Spiel Essen, and Lucca Comics & Games, alongside stops at the multi-city BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest.
Localized local game store (LGS) tutorial sessions are scheduled to begin worldwide in January 2027 to onboard new players ahead of the official Summer 2027 launch.
The arrival of a brand-new Naruto TCG comes at a time when tabletop gaming is experiencing an explosive resurgence in the Philippines. Bandai Card Games already commands a massive market presence across local hobby stores in Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao through hit titles like the One Piece Card Game, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, and the Gundam Card Game.
Given Naruto‘s status as a household pop culture landmark in the country having aired on Philippine free TV for over two decades local tabletop players, collectors, and anime fans are already preparing for the game’s arrival. Local gaming hubs and hobby chains are expected to host official demo days and local store tournaments once Bandai’s tutorial rollout begins in early 2027.
