Filipina tennis player Alex Eala and seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams have resumed their court preparations together ahead of the upcoming Mubadala DC Open.
Tournament organizers shared a social media video on Saturday, July 25, showing Eala and Williams practicing on court. The brief clip generated rapid fan interest online, surpassing 50,000 views and 2,000 likes within five hours of posting.
The WTA 500 event in Washington marks the duo’s second outing as a doubles team, following their quarterfinal run at the Bad Homburg Open in Germany last month.
Set to begin on Monday, July 27, the tournament boasts a competitive lineup featuring defending champion Leylah Fernandez, runner-up Anna Kalinskaya, 2019 champion Jessica Pegula, world No. 10 Elina Svitolina, four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka, and reigning Australian Open winner Madison Keys.
The event kicks off Eala’s North American hard-court swing as she prepares for the US Open late next month.
