GMA AND VIVA TEAM UP FOR NEW DAVID LICAUCO PROJECT

Media giant GMA Network and entertainment powerhouse VIVA Communications Inc. are reportedly preparing to join forces once again for an upcoming production.

According to multiple industry reports, the two companies are collaborating on a brand-new project that will feature Kapuso leading man David Licauco. Specifics regarding the plot, genre, and the rest of the cast are still being kept under wraps.

The unannounced project serves as the latest chapter in a string of successful partnerships between the broadcast network and the entertainment firm. Previously, GMA Network, VIVA Communications, and the streaming platform Viu Philippines teamed up for the romantic drama series Love Siargao, which featured Alden Richards and Nadine Lustre.

Furthermore, the media company led by the Gozon family and the entertainment firm established by industry tycoon Vicente “Boss Vic” del Rosario Jr. previously expanded their business ties by forming GMV Studios, a joint business venture primarily focused on music production and label operations.

This renewed tie-up arrives amid ongoing industry rumors that VIVA has concluded its long-standing programming relationship with TV5. The speculation sparked after several cable channels owned by VIVA Communications—namely Pinoy Box Office (PBO), Sari-Sari Channel, and VIVA Cinema—were not renewed for carriage agreements on the pay-television provider Cignal.

As of press time, neither TV5 nor VIVA Communications has released an official statement to clarify or confirm the status of their broadcasting partnership.
