GMA NETWORK WIDENS RATING LEAD IN FIRST HALF OF 2026

GMA Network expanded its viewership lead over rival television networks during the first half of 2026.

Figures from the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM) covering January 1 to June 30, 2026, show that the Gozon-led broadcaster secured a dominant 45.8% audience share. Additionally, 27 out of the 30 most-watched television programs during the six-month period were produced by the Kapuso Network.

Meanwhile, TV5 experienced a notable drop in viewership. Though it retained the second spot overall, its audience share declined to 9.7% from the 14.5% recorded in 2025. GMA Network’s subsidiary channel, GTV, closely trailed TV5 after securing a 9.6% audience share in the first half of 2026.

A key contributor to TV5’s sharp decline was the termination of its partnership agreement with ABS-CBN on the first day of 2026, leaving the Kapatid Network struggling to maintain its former viewership levels.

Conversely, Advanced Media Broadcasting System’s (AMBS) ALLTV2 saw a major ratings boost, rising to a 6.7% audience share after previously struggling to attract viewers. The surge follows ALLTV2’s content partnership with ABS-CBN, which brought the Kapamilya Network’s entire lineup to the Villar-owned station.

A2Z, another ABS-CBN-affiliated broadcast channel owned by Zoe Broadcasting Network, generated a 5.4% audience share.

Rounding out the Top 10 most-watched television channels were GMA’s digital offerings, I Heart Movies and Heart of Asia, ABS-CBN’s 24/7 pay-TV stations, Kapamilya Channel and CineMo, alongside TV5’s sister network, RPTV.
