GMA Network is set to introduce an unexpected hosting television pairing this television season, tapping fashion icon Heart Evangelista and rising actor Sean Lucas to front its upcoming weekend program, The People Have Spoken.
Scheduled to premiere on June 6, the original concept blends a high-energy quiz format with elements of a casual talk show. The mechanics require two celebrity teams to accurately predict the majority responses of 100 studio audience members who were surveyed before the broadcast. Production executives noted that the show’s appeal relies heavily on spontaneous, comedic banter revolving around highly relatable, everyday topics.
The project marks a major programming shift for both personalities. The show serves as Evangelista’s formal debut in the game show genre, stepping away from her usual fashion and drama projects to guide celebrity contestants through the core gameplay rounds.
Meanwhile, the assignment represents a significant career advancement for Lucas. A former member of the network’s “Sparkada” youth talent roster, Lucas transitions to a primetime co-hosting slot tasked with managing crowd dynamics and interacting directly with the live studio audience.
Veteran television director Arnel Natividad has been tapped to helm the production. The People Have Spoken will air weekly every Saturday at 6:15 p.m. on GMA-7.
