TV5 COST-CUTTING FORCES DIRECTOR JOHNNY MANAHAN OUT OF SHOW “VIBE”

Media giant TV5 is reportedly facing ongoing financial challenges, leading to the removal of veteran television director and talent manager Johnny Manahan from his directorial post in the network’s music countdown show, “Vibe.”

According to reports, the decision was driven by the program’s strict cost-cutting measures, as Manahan’s high talent fee could no longer be sustained. Despite being replaced as the director, Manahan will maintain a creative role within the show’s production team.

Insiders revealed that the program has struggled financially for several months, failing to generate profits even when combining revenue from commercial advertisers with earnings from online and text voting mechanics. The budget cuts were deemed necessary to keep the show on the air.

Despite the directorial shakeup, Manahan remains an active figure in the Kapatid Network, continuing his work with the creative team of “Vibe” and serving as the head of TV5’s talent management agency, Star Worx.
