PAGASA FORECASTS UP TO TWO TROPICAL CYCLONES THIS JUNE

The state weather bureau has announced that one to two tropical cyclones are expected to form within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this June, with potential landfalls projected over the Bicol Region or Eastern Visayas before tracking toward Luzon.

This outlook follows the recent departure of Typhoon Ester, the nation’s first tropical cyclone of the month, which exited the PAR on Saturday.

According to the latest monitoring from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), there are currently no active tropical cyclones inside or near the country’s territory.

However, even without an active storm, the Southwest Monsoon—locally termed Habagat—will continue to impact the country. The weather system is projected to bring intermittent rainfall across the western sections of Northern and Central Luzon.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can still expect isolated rain showers and thunderstorms caused by localized weather disturbances.

PAGASA has urged the public to stay vigilant, prepare for potential weather hazards, and regularly check official updates as the rainy season advances and storm activity is anticipated to scale up in the months ahead.
