People’s Television Network (PTV) General Manager Lino Cayetano has announced an upcoming partnership between the state-run station and the country’s three major media giants: GMA Network, ABS-CBN Corporation, and TV5, through its parent firm MediaQuest Holdings.
Sharing the update on his official social media account, the former Taguig City Mayor explained that the collaboration aims to boost PTV-4’s capability to deliver accurate news regarding the initiatives of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.
“I am happy to share that ABS-CBN, GMA and MediaQuest TV5 have reached out to help us at PTV.”
Cayetano further noted that the network’s leadership has already greenlit the preliminary steps for the collaboration.
“The PTV board, led by Chairperson Victoria C. Recio, Vice Chairperson Prof. Antonio Contreras and Board Member Atty. Joji Alonso, adopted a resolution authorizing me to enter partnerships with these media organizations to further advance our mandate.”
The general manager expressed optimism that teaming up with the country’s top broadcasting networks will mark a promising new chapter for the government-operated station, which has been on the air since 1974.
“To serve Filipinos better and remain engaged and relevant in their lives, we need multiple stakeholders at the table, working alongside the already outstanding and hardworking men and women of PTV,” Cayetano said.
“I thank the three largest media organizations — all held in high esteem and trust by the Filipino people to be part of PTV’s future.”
Specific details regarding the scope and projects of the partnership have yet to be disclosed by PTV, GMA, ABS-CBN, or TV5.
