Box-office star Vice Ganda admitted to harboring hurt feelings toward TV5 and MediaQuest Holdings following their 2023 decision to assign the network’s noontime slot to the iconic trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ).
The sudden programming change disrupted the broadcast schedule of ABS-CBN’s flagship variety show “It’s Showtime,” which was offered a delayed 4:30 p.m. time slot instead. The adjustment eventually led the show to migrate to GMA Network’s sister channel GTV in 2023, before securing its spot on GMA-7’s main channel in 2024.
Despite the past friction, the Kapamilya comedian clarified during a formal contract signing with MediaQuest Holdings on Thursday, August 13, that he chose not to sever professional relationships with the Kapatid network.
“Inaamin ko medyo sumama loob ko pero diba, in this industry naman we don’t burn bridges. So ako, dahil nagustuhan ko ang layunin nila, I eventually said yes.”
MediaQuest Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan praised the comedian’s adaptability, dubbing Vice Ganda the “Queen of All Networks” for simultaneously maintaining active presence across ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and TV5.
